Cinema 4D Templates category must
be prepared for commercial use. This article
outlines all the requirements to ensure that your template file(s) meets the
expected standards which will help us
approve your project quicker.
• Technical Requirements
Your project main file should follow a clean and organized folder structure. Before saving your project file, ensure that your root directory contains the following:
- Template file(s)
- Help documentation or Help File
- Appropriate Releases
- Asset(s) and footage sub-folder
If you plan to use custom fonts in your projects, you must only use free custom fonts. Do not include the font in your final Zip file. Instead, you can provide the font downloadable link in your help file so that the customers can use the same font if they want and also you can avoid copyright issues.
If your project includes footage of a recognisable private property, human face, or identifiable feature that needs a signed model or location release, you must scan the release forms and upload in PDF or JPG format.
For more information on the model and location release, please read this article.
Create a preview image for your project file. This image should be of:
- 590x300 pixels
- JPEG format.
As this is a great place to make a first impression, we recommend that you find the perfect place in your video and take a screenshot. You could also use this area to present the video or show what is included.
Project files containing placeholder images/videos from outside or copyrighted sources will not be accepted. You must only use assets from our Asset Library or original content that you own the rights as placeholders within your preview.
- 80 x 80 pixels
- JPG format.
It is more appropriate to include a screenshot of your video as a thumbnail.
As Envato primarily operates an English marketplace, we require all the expressions within your template to be written in English.
Cinema 4D templates require all expressions to be provided and written in a universalized language.
If you are developing a project that contains any expressions, you must universalize your expressions, for more information, please read this article.
• Documentation Requirements
Due to the increased difficulty of hybrid projects, each file will require more detailed documentation(help file) to guide customers through the customization process. You can provide supporting help file in the following formats:
- HTML
- Video
Ensure that your help files walk the customer through the basic changes in Cinema, the process for bringing the files into After Effects, and then the process for making basic changes in After Effects.
• Project Submission Requirements
Before proceeding to upload, you must create a zip file of the main file that includes template file(s), help file(s), releases, and assets.
Please note that your main file should not exceed 3GB in total size after compressing, files submitted over 3GB will not be accepted.
